PVPA Bows to Mt. Sac in Aviation Trivia Game
Highly outnumbered, the Mt. Sac College Flying team consisting of faculty members Linda and Robert Rogus, and only two of their students soundly trounced the Geezers of PVPA, over a dozen strong, in a game of Aviation Jeopardy. The final score was Mt. Sac 350 and PVPA 240. Some of the Geezers were questioning PVPA president, David Kerkhoff's unorthodox, to say the least, scoring system.
The faintly pungent odor in the room was not that of stale hanger coffee, but old brains overheating as they worked to solve problems of weight and balance, and answer questions on airport markings, airspace and airports, trivia and the dreaded potpourri. The kids didn't seem to have much trouble with their answers.
One can rest assured that no challenge to a flying contest such as spot landing, navigation or the such will be forthcoming anytime soon. Some of the PVPA Geezers helped judge the recent college regional flying contest held at Brackett and we saw the skills of these young pilots.
